Error accessing admin page

edited August 2013 in Miscellaneous

Just installed a test system using Elefant 2 Beta 6 (v1.3.5).

Install went ok and I was able to access the site, but trying to access the admin page gives:

The requested URL /admin was not found on this server.

In the error log, I get:

[Thu Aug 22 07:51:01 2013] [error] [client 192.168.1.3] File does not exist:
/var/www/elefant/admin, referer: http://192.168.1.2/install/?step=finished

This, btw, is my first install of elefantCMS.

  • Sounds like the URL rewriting isn't setup. If you're using Apache, make sure you've got the .htaccess file that comes with Elefant in your site root. If that doesn't fix it, make sure Apache's mod_rewrite module is enabled and restart Apache. Also make sure that Apache's AllowOverride setting is set to All for the directory the site lives in.

If you're using Nginx, let me know what you've got in your server{} block and we'll see from there.

    Thank you.

    AllowOverride was the culprit.

  • Glad to hear!
